How we work
All roles are remote and flexible where the role allows. Some positions are contractor based and while other may move to employed, depending on the needs of the service.

Roles that involve contact with clients may require background checks such as DBS or PVG, and right to work checks. We will confirm what applies before any offer.

Contract Type: Independent Contractor


Role Overview:

Pride in Health is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation dedicated to connecting trans, non-binary, and intersex community with safe, reliable, and affirming healthcare.

The Clinical Prescriber is a vital member of our clinical team, responsible for the safe and effective ongoing management of gender-affirming hormone therapy. This role is crucial for expanding our capacity to provide timely and responsive care. You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure a seamless, safe, and client-centred pathway for our community.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Prescribing:

  • Conduct remote follow-up consultations to monitor client progress, manage hormone therapy, and provide ongoing support.
  • Issue and manage prescriptions for hormone therapy in line with best-practice guidance and our clinical protocols.
  • Review and interpret blood test results to safely titrate medication and optimise care.
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and evidence-based information to clients about their treatment.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, and confidential clinical records for all client interactions.


Collaboration & MDT Participation:

  • Actively participate in MDT meetings, providing clinical insights and collaborating with our GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Governance Lead to implement practices that align with Pride in Health’s mission, vision, and values.


Community & Service Development:

  • Contribute your clinical expertise to the creation and development of our community resource pages, ensuring they are informative, accessible, and reflect the needs of our community.


Person Specification: Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Current and unrestricted registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse OR the GPhC as a Pharmacist.
  • Current registration as an Independent Prescriber (e.g., V300) with the relevant professional body.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical setting.
  • Ability to secure your own private indemnity insurance for remote, telehealth-based gender-affirming care.
  • A thorough understanding of clinical governance, confidentiality, and GDPR.
  • Right to work in the UK as a self-employed contractor.


Desirable:

  • Direct clinical competency in providing gender-affirming care and hormone therapy.
  • Experience working with LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse communities.
