About Pride In Health

Our Service

Pride In Health is a trans+ led platform that supports our trans, non-binary and intersex community with accessing affirming, ethical, and collaborative healthcare. We work in partnership with a network of independent healthcare professionals who deliver services using our secure client management system and shared care protocols.

While we're not currently a clinic. We do not provide care directly. Instead, we support access to care by offering a structure that allows independent clinicians to work together within a multidisciplinary team (MDT), supported by shared policies, ethical frameworks, and peer oversight.

Our Approach

  •  We follow a harm reduction and informed consent model, centred around the right to access timely and respectful healthcare

  • We work with clients who are accessing private care, self-managing, or seeking parallel support alongside NHS care pathways

  • All clinicians are independent and responsible for their own clinical decisions and documentation, working within the scope of their professional registration

Our Structure

The MDT includes a mix of independent professionals, including:

  • GMC-registered Doctors
  • NMC-registered Nurse Prescriber
  • HCPC, BPS, COPC and ACCPH registered psychologists

All clinicians are verified, insured, and working in line with professional standards and safeguarding protocols. Where appropriate, clinicians also engage in peer supervision and regular case discussion.

Shared Care & External Providers

We actively encourage collaboration with GPs, surgeons, and other healthcare providers, where the client gives consent and it is clinically appropriate. Clinicians working with us:

  • Provide medical summaries or treatment recommendations to support shared care agreements
  • Communicate with NHS or private providers regarding continuity of care
  • Respect each client’s right to self-determination and privacy, while ensuring safeguarding and clinical responsibilities are upheld

We understand that providers may have concerns when supporting clients engaged in private or community-based transgender care. We are happy to offer:

  • Confirmation of clinician credentials working with our shared patient (with their consent)
  • A summary of care structure and monitoring plans
  • Direct communication with the clinician involved, if appropriate and requested.

Prescribing and Clinical Oversight

Clinicians working through Pride In Health support clients using structured pathways grounded in recognised best practice and informed consent. All care is provided by independent, regulated professionals, operating within the scope of their registration, insurance, and current professional guidance.

Prescribing clinicians follow pathways aligned with:

  • GMC Good Medical Practice (2024)
  • NMC Standards for Prescribing Programmes (2018)
  • WPATH Standards of Care v8, with a focus on informed consent and harm reduction
  • UK national guidelines, including Gender identity healthcare: Adults and young people Standards September 2024

All hormone prescribing is supported by:

  • Initial and follow-up clinical assessments by qualified professionals
  • A structured consent process covering risks, benefits, and unlicensed medicine use
  • Blood test monitoring at regular intervals (typically every 3 months)
  • Clinical reviews every 6 months or earlier if needed
  • Shared decision-making with the client, based on individual goals and health context

All client records, blood results, documents and consent forms are securely stored and reviewed within Carebit, a cloud-based clinical system with two-factor authentication.

Prescriptions are issued using SignatureRx, a secure electronic prescribing platform that allows clinicians to generate and track private prescriptions safely. SignatureRx ensures that prescriptions are sent directly to the clients nominated email, mobile, or directly to Signature pharmacy for home delivery if chosen.
