Prices may change as we improve access to care, with updates reflected here and in your Carebit booking information.

Yes. Pride In Health provides gender-affirming hormone prescribing for transgender, non-binary and intersex adults in the UK, where this is clinically appropriate.
Prescribing decisions are made by UK-registered clinicians following assessment, informed consent, blood test review and ongoing monitoring.
Hormone prescribing is for people who want to start, continue or re-establish gender-affirming hormone treatment through Pride In Health, with clinical review, blood tests and ongoing monitoring.
Flexible Support is for people who need individual services, such as blood test reviews, hormone guidance, counselling, clinical letters or support while self-managing their care.
Flexible Support does not include prescriptions.
Before gender-affirming hormone treatment can be considered, you will usually need baseline blood tests and up-to-date health information such as height, weight and blood pressure.
The exact tests needed depend on your pathway, medication plan and clinical history. Pride In Health will guide you on what is required before prescribing decisions are made.
Yes. If your GP does not agree to shared care, you can continue privately through Pride In Health where this remains clinically appropriate.
Your care will still need regular monitoring, blood tests and follow-up reviews to support safe prescribing.
Pride In Health can support people who are self-managing their care through Flexible Support.
This may include blood test reviews, hormone guidance, counselling, clinical letters and signposting. Where relevant, this may include people who describe their situation as DIY hormone use.
Flexible Support does not include prescriptions.
Costs depend on the pathway and the type of support you need.
Pride In Health publishes pricing for hormone prescribing, Flexible Support, ongoing care, blood test monitoring and one-off services.
You can use the Pricing Information page and service calculator to check which costs apply to your situation.
Yes. Pride In Health is a private online clinic, with care provided through our multidisciplinary team of trusted UK-registered healthcare professionals working through shared systems, clinical governance and care pathways.
Our Healthcare Improvement Scotland registration is in progress. Healthcare Improvement Scotland regulates independent healthcare services operating in Scotland, including online healthcare.
While this process is underway, our clinicians continue to work in full compliance with their own professional bodies, such as the GMC, NMC, GPhC and HCPC.
We are based in Scotland and support clients across the UK through online services. All services are provided remotely unless otherwise stated.
No. Pride In Health is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you ever feel unsafe, unwell, or in crisis, please contact NHS 111, your local urgent or mental health crisis service, or attend your nearest A&E. In an emergency, always call 999.
Any documents or personal details you share with us such as ID documents, are stored securely and only used to verify your identity, and process your registration.
If you decide not to go ahead with your registration, your information is securely deleted in line with our Data Protection Policy.
If you've already registered and later choose to stop using Pride In Health, your records are stored securely for the minimum period required under UK healthcare regulations (currently seven years for health records) before being permanently deleted or anonymised.
You can ask at any time to see what information we hold or request deletion where appropriate by emailing security@prideinhealth.co.uk.
All data is handled in line with UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Healthcare Improvement Scotland standards for independent healthcare organisations.
No. Pride In Health does not hold or dispense medication. When a clinician issues a prescription, it is sent digitally via SignatureRx. You can then collect your medication from any pharmacy that accepts SignatureRx prescriptions. Pharmacies set their own prices for medication.
No. The prices listed for appointments and prescriptions cover the clinician’s time and the legal prescription document only. Medication costs are charged separately by the pharmacy you choose.
If your GP agrees to shared care, Pride In Health can provide a treatment recommendation letter and monitoring plan for your GP to review. Your GP then decides whether they are able to take over prescribing and blood tests through the NHS.
Shared care is now part of the Hormone Prescribing Pathway, rather than a separate pathway. In most cases, shared care can be requested after around 6 months of stable, well-monitored care. This helps build GP trust and makes sure your care has been safely monitored before GP input.
You’ll also receive shared care guidance to help you understand the process and what to expect.
If your GP cannot take over prescribing or blood tests, you can continue receiving gender-affirming hormone care through Pride In Health where this remains clinically appropriate.
This means you can remain safely monitored and continue accessing medication privately, without being left stuck.
We’ll still support you with GP communication where we can, but it’s important to make sure you’re comfortable with the ongoing costs of private hormone prescribing and monitoring if shared care is not available.
You’ll need baseline blood tests before your first gender clinician appointment, so the clinician can review and interpret results safely before treatment is started.
After treatment begins, most people need blood tests every 3 months to begin with. Once things are stable, this is often reduced to every 6 or 12 months, depending on your treatment plan and health needs.
Yes. Pride In Health was created with harm reduction at its core.
We support people who self-manage their care through Flexible Support. This may include blood test reviews, hormone guidance, counselling, clinical letters and signposting. Where relevant, this may include people who describe their situation as DIY hormone use.
Flexible Support does not include prescriptions.
Transgender, non-binary and intersex adults aged 18 and over who live in the UK and are seeking gender-affirming care can register.
You’ll need to complete a short registration process and pay the relevant registration fee for your chosen pathway.
Our main pathways are:
Flexible Support – for individual services such as blood test reviews, hormone guidance, counselling, clinical letters and support while self-managing care. This pathway does not include prescriptions.
Hormone Prescribing – for people starting, continuing or re-establishing gender-affirming hormone treatment, with clinical review, blood tests, informed consent and ongoing monitoring.
Ongoing Care – for people who need continued monitoring, prescribing, treatment review and shared care support over time.
Shared care is not a separate intake pathway. Where possible, our aim is to support people into shared care with their GP after around 6 months of stable, well-monitored care.
At present, Pride In Health can only support clients based within the UK. This includes England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
We aim to process registration requests within 5 working days, though it's often much quicker.
Yes. All clients are provided with access to their Carebit portal, where they can manage bookings, upload documents, update personal information, view records and track their care.
We accept a range of secure online payment options, including card, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay and Klarna through Stripe.
Pride In Health accepts Klarna as an optional payment method through our secure payment partner, Stripe.
This means you can choose Klarna’s Pay in 3 or Pay in 30 days options at checkout for some services.
It’s completely optional, and you can still pay by debit or credit card as usual.
We don’t offer or arrange credit ourselves.
If you choose Klarna, your payment agreement is made directly with Klarna Bank AB (publ) through Stripe Payments UK Ltd, who process all our payments.
We receive payment from Klarna once your transaction is approved.
Your care and access to services aren’t affected by whether you use Klarna or pay by another method.
Refunds for Klarna payments are handled automatically through Stripe and Klarna.
Once we process your refund, Klarna will update your balance or cancel future instalments depending on your payment plan.
Please note it can take up to 5 to 10 working days for Klarna to reflect the refund on your account.
Klarna and Stripe are both authorised payment processors that meet UK and EU security standards (PCI-DSS).
We don’t store or have access to your Klarna account details, everything is handled securely through Stripe.
You can read Klarna’s full UK terms and privacy information here:
If you’re worried about affordability, please reach out to our admin team before booking.
We can sometimes help by spacing appointments, adjusting timing, or suggesting lower-cost support options.
Klarna is simply one payment option, not a requirement.
Yes. You can move between pathways as your needs change, for example from Flexible Support into the Hormone Prescribing Pathway.
If shared care is something you’d like to work towards, we can support that too. In most cases, shared care can be requested after around 6 months of stable, well-monitored care. This helps build GP trust and shows a clear monitoring plan.
The team will guide you through what is needed.
These details help clinicians understand your general health and whether any support, advice, treatment or review is safe and suitable for you.
Hormones and other medicines can affect things like blood pressure, weight and metabolism, so having this information helps care be reviewed safely over time. It can also help identify if any follow-up or clinical review may be needed.
You can measure your height and weight at home using a tape measure and bathroom scales, or ask your GP surgery or local pharmacy if you don’t have access to these.
Once you know your height and weight, you can calculate your BMI using the NHS BMI calculator here: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/bmi-calculator/.
Blood pressure can be checked at most pharmacies, GP surgeries, or using a home monitor. If you’re using your own monitor, please make sure you’re seated and relaxed before taking your reading.
If you’re unsure or don’t have access to equipment, you can let us know, and we'll guide you on what’s needed for your stage of care and how to get it checked safely.
Before you move, we recommend requesting a PDF copy of your medical records from your current healthcare provider. This should include details of your medication, treatment plans, and any relevant diagnosis letters. Having this ready helps the clinician reviewing your case to understand your background and ensure your care remains safe and consistent.
Once you register, you’ll be able to upload these securely to your portal once you’ve registered.
Try to gather as much as you can before moving:
All medical records and diagnosis letters must be provided in English so the reviewing clinician can ensure your care meets UK clinical and safety standards. If your documents are in another language, they’ll need to be professionally translated.
You can use certified translation services, often available online, though it's important to ensure the translation is certified and includes the translator’s signature or stamp.
If you don’t have access to your records when registering, that’s okay, you can still begin your application. However, we’ll still need additional information from you to make sure any care provided through Pride In Health is safe and accurate.
This may include new baseline blood tests, confirmation of current medication, or details about your past treatment and health history.
It’s important to share any existing medical conditions or current medication you take so your clinician can review for potential interactions or risks.
If you’ve recently moved and don’t yet have a registered UK address, you can use official correspondence that shows your name and current temporary address, for example, a tenancy agreement, utility bill, or government letter once received.
If you’re staying temporarily with someone, a letter from your host or landlord confirming your stay, along with proof of their address, may also be acceptable.
Once you have your own address, you’ll need to update this in your portal so your records remain accurate
Unfortunately, PO Box addresses can’t be used as proof of address for registration or identity verification. Proof of address must link to a residential location where you can receive official correspondence, this helps ensure your records meet UK legal and clinical verification requirements.
Some medications and brands used in other countries may not be licensed or available for prescribing in the UK. For example, injectable oestrogen (such as estradiol valerate or cypionate) is not currently available through UK pharmacies and cannot be prescribed by UK clinicians.
If this applies to your medication, your clinician will discuss equivalent or alternative options that meet UK prescribing standards.
After registration, you’ll have access to your secure online portal, where you can upload documents under the Documents or Test Results section. Files are encrypted, and only the clinicians supporting your care and the admin team responsible for managing your record will be able to view them.
